Hi friends,

The Duke New Music Ensemble [dnme] closes its 2008-09 season with a concert
called "The Landscape Imaginary".  We will be performing brand new music by
Duke composers Paul Leary, Ben Crawford and Jonathan Wall, and visiting
professor of music Nick Stoia, in addition to a work by Nick Didkovsky, and
a performance of John Cage's "Imaginary Landscape No. 4" for twelve radios.

The entire concert will take place in the lower lobby of the Biddle music
building, with a concurrent soundscape installation - the realization of a
brainstorming session back in November with visiting acoustic ecologist and
musician Peter Cusack.  Sounds recorded in various parts of Durham will play
throughout the concert, providing a unique context for the concert program.

[dnme] is a part of the Department of Music, and brings together
undergraduate and graduate student performers in presenting music written in
the 20th and 21st centuries.  In addition, [dnme] also collaborates
regularly with faculty and guest artists from the Duke University Department
of Music and other institutions across North Carolina.
